The Later Years team (years 10-12) at Macleod College presents a supportive, rigorous, and value-added program for all students.
Care and Support
Later Years students have access to 2 study centres. One is attached to the Later Years’ office, which is attended at most times by members of the Later Years team. It contains computers, drinking fountain and a display of all material relevant at these levels. Alternatively, students can also use the Library’s VCE study area, which is a quiet study space with access to computers. The library supports VCE students through provision of study guides, computers, printer, newspapers etc., as well as advice on assignments, study skills and research assistance.
As part of the support structure, students and their families have Pathways interviews at Year 10 and VTAC interviews at Year 12, whereby the best possible advice and guidance is offered to assist with post-schooling success in employment or further study. Every assistance is given to enable our students to select the pathway best suited to their personal situation.
Additional activities are offered to complement formalised learning and assist with post-school life, including:
Year 10 – Box Hill Gap program, Volunteer program, Work Experience
Year 11 – Fit 2 Drive, La Trobe University Subject tasters, Elevate Ed,
VET programs as part of NMVC Year 12 –Acclaimed motivational speakers e.g. Arthur Bolkas, VET programs as part of NMVC, Party Safe, Valedictory Dinner
Our VCAL program is running at Year 11 and 12.
