Middle School
07 - 09

At Macleod College], we understand that the middle school years are a critical period in a student's life, where academic growth and personal development intertwine. With this in mind, we strive to create a harmonious environment that prioritizes both learning and well-being.

Education is undoubtedly important, and we are dedicated to providing a rigorous academic program that prepares our students for their future endeavors. Our experienced educators utilize innovative teaching methods, engaging resources, and collaborative learning experiences to ignite intellectual curiosity and foster a love for learning. We challenge our students to think critically, problem-solve, and embrace a growth mindset.

However, we firmly believe that true success extends beyond the classroom. Our commitment to student well-being is unwavering. We understand that a balanced and healthy mind is essential for optimal learning and personal growth. Thus, we prioritize the mental, emotional, and physical well-being of our students.

Through a range of initiatives, we cultivate a supportive and nurturing environment. Our comprehensive Hold Fast program integrates mindfulness practices, social-emotional learning, and regular opportunities for self-reflection. We empower our students with the tools and strategies to manage stress, build resilience, and develop strong interpersonal skills.

Our dedicated team of educators, counselors, and support staff work collaboratively to ensure that every student feels seen, heard, and valued. We provide a safe space for students to express themselves, seek guidance, and receive personalized support when needed.

By striking a balance between academic excellence and student wellbeing, we foster an environment where students can thrive holistically. We believe that by nurturing their intellectual curiosity and supporting their emotional well-being, we are equipping our students with the skills and mindset they need to succeed not only in their middle school years but also throughout their lives.

In addition to the fundamental core subjects, our students have the opportunity to explore a diverse array of Art/Technology courses, as well as immerse themselves in the study of German as our chosen language. Students in Years 7 - 9 are placed in flexible groups for mathematics and English to allow all students to be supported at their point of need.
