Study Tour to Germany

I’d get on the plane and go back tomorrow if I could.”

Every two years since 2000, a group of 20 or so students experience the trip of a lifetime. The tour comprises two to three weeks home-stay with partners and their families from our sister-school in Düsseldorf, followed by nearly two weeks travelling together to significant destinations in Germany and Austria. We manage to experience every facet of the German experience, from Apfelschorle to Zugspitz.

Exchange Program

“I was really worried about how I’d get along, but it was just the best experience. . . .huge.”

Macleod College is an approved Exchange Organisation so Macleod College students have the benefits of being an official exchange student, without having to pay the high fees involved with commercial exchange organisations. Our sister-school relationship with the Geschwister-Scholl-Gymnasium in Düsseldorf, Germany began in 1998 and since then 198 travellers and nearly 300 families have benefitted from this international program.

Students have the flexibility of going on exchange at any time of the year, from three months to a year. All students may apply for Exchange, although it is recommended that students are at Year 9 to 11 level. You do not have to be a LOTE student to enjoy a successful exchange, although the study of German will greatly enhance your experience.  Many non-LOTE students have had a terrific time at our Sister School. Students currently studying German are advised to consider participating, as the experience tends to significantly improve school results.
