Sport @ Macleod

The sporting facilities at Macleod College include a four court indoor netball stadium (NETS stadium), four outdoor basketball courts, a soccer pitch, a football oval and practice cricket nets.

Sport is an integral part of the educational program offered at Macleod College for all students in Years P – 12.

Sport is a compulsory subject from Prep to Year 7 and all students participate in a wide variety of indoor and outdoor sports and activities through out the year.

The College also runs an annual athletics and swimming carnival with the top two students in each event given an opportunity to represent the College at the zone and state level.

The College competes at the zone level in a variety of team sports each term and teams that are successful go on to represent the College at state competition.

Interschool Sport @ Macleod

At Macleod College we compete in the Diamond Valley/Warringal Sports groups. Each term we compete against schools in our area in a variety of sports
Students try-out to make the team, practice and compete on the day. If successful they advance to quarter finals, group finals, northern zone and the state level

Basketball @ Macleod

Each year Macleod College participates in the National Schools Basketball Tournament. This is the biggest junior basketball tournament in Australia, with schools from all states competing. We have an exceptional coach and extensive training is involved with morning, lunch and after school training being a feature of the basketball program.

Mr Crowe heads up the basketball program. He has been coaching extensively at high levels for some time.

Basketball is also offered as an elective subject at the year 10 level. Students learn both applied and theoretical concepts of basketball
