Careers

• The Careers program starts at Year 10 at Macleod College and equips students with
  the skills, knowledge and confidence to make informed choices about their futures.
  This program enhances the prospects of making personal career aspirations a
  reality. 
• Students undertake a range of career investigations and explorations working with
  the Student Pathways Manager, class mentor teachers and year level coordinators.
• This empowers students to take charge of mapping their exit pathways from
  secondary education
• It also develops the career competencies that all Australians need to manage life,
  learning, and work throughout their lives.

Beacon Foundation – supporting our careers and pathways program

• Macleod College has embarked on a partnership with The Beacon Foundation. This is a not-for-profit organisation, that seeks to help young people broaden their knowledge of careers and achieve personal success for themselves and their community.
• Building upon the existing programs already operating in our College, the Beacon Foundation will assist us to engage support of industries and businesses at a local and national level. We utilise the expertise of the local community and businesses, and hence diversify and expand the career-based experiences on offer to our students. 
• These experiences will include preparation for and participation in
• Mock Interviews with local businesses
• Career Choices Workshops
• Industry Visits
• Tertiary Option Seminars
