VET
- Vocational Education and Training (VET) units studied in a VCE or VCAL program offer students the opportunity to acquire nationally accredited certificates in a range of vocational areas.
- VET units also count towards VCE and VCAL certificates.
- In conjunction with local schools and NMIT, students may undertake these courses through block release from school or as part of their weekly study.
- A requirement of VET courses is that all students undertake structured workplace learning in an industry related to their VET study.
- Courses on offer in 2007 include Hospitality, Furnishing, Automotive, Electrotechnology, Childcare, Business, Dance, Music, Hairdressing, Beauty, Building and Construction, and Bricklaying.
The VET students organise and deliver a three course meal to staff, and associated members for a special evening of glitz and glamour. They also provide finger food and nibbles as part of the Fashion and Art show and other public presentations.
