Performances

Performance is the biggest rush… I love it!

The best and one of the most important parts of being a musician is performing. It’s the reason why we all play our instrument. The chance to be on stage with others and share our music with an audience. Once you’ve experienced that, you’ll want to do it over and over again!

At Macleod, it is our aim to make performances as much like those in the real world as possible. Performances range from small combos playing at festivals and corporate events to galas such as 2006’s Motown Spectacular when 80 students performed on stage as they brought songs of the Motown era to life.

Students studied an old silent Buster Keaton movie and wrote a soundtrack for it. Their live performance accompanying a screening of the movie was a hit at the 2007 Information Night

Generations in Jazz
Macleod took two bands to the National Generations in Jazz competition in Mt Gambier in May. They performed their hearts out and both bands came second in their divisions.
