Macleod College is committed to providing education of high quality to all students. The
High Achievers Program is an extension / enrichment program which challenges highly
able students. It caters for students with a wide range of abilities and talents. It allows highly
capable and motivated students to explore a more diverse range of subject matter to a much
greater depth. It provides greater exposure to activities requiring higher level thinking and
problem solving skills.
The program provides
- A more challenging learning environment
- The opportunity to study more abstract, complex and in depth texts and issues.
- The opportunity to work independently and cooperatively with students of similar
abilities and interests.
- Opportunities to pursue study in areas of interest.
What happens after year 7?
- A challenging program is offered to the high achievers group in the first four years of
secondary schooling.
- It is expected that these students will begin some VCE studies in year 10.
- Since most students will be completing at least one Unit 3 & 4 sequence in year 11
