Sister Schools
Macleod has two sister school relationships, one in China and one in Germany
China
In China our sister school is Huaibei Experimental School from the Anhui province in central China.
Each year a group of teachers and students from Huaibei visit Macleod and take part in a specially organized program. The students are paired up with local students who act as their buddies. They attend normal classes and go on visits and overnight trips to interesting places in Melbourne and other parts if Victoria.
Staff from Macleod have visited Huaibei Experimental School a number of times

Germany
Since 1998 we have a formal partnership with the 125-year-old Geschwister-Scholl Gymnasium in Düsseldorf, Germany.
Macleod College has hosted several groups of GSG students as well as sending students there on exchange or as part of the Study Tour to Germany; in fact 198 students and nearly 300 families have directly benefitted from this relationship.
The GSG grammar school is situated in a leafy part of the centre of Düsseldorf, the capital of the state of North-Rhine Westphalia; a school of about 1000 students and 70 teachers. The school prides itself in its multiculturalism and has students from over 30 different countries, and sister schools in Russia, France, Israel and of course, Australia.
There is a strong emphasis on academic achievement as well as endeavours in music, theatre and environmental issues.
Their ‘second house’ in Hitzenlinde in the German alps is a popular camp, and most students spend part of their school life there, either in the summer or for winter skiing. Several of our students here at Macleod have been able to visit Hitzenlinde while on exchange. Needless to say, we love visiting the GSG!
