Student Leadership
Macleod is very proud of its tradition of student leadership. The P-12 structure of the college generates many authentic opportunities for leadership.
Students are involved in the formal aspects of leadership: school and house captains and Student Representative Council to name two but it is in other areas that they shine.
They come to the fore in organising and conducting programs ranging from transition days, open nights, information sessions, primary visits, Year 7 swimming carnival, awards night and facilitating student activities.
Student leaders become skilled at generating ideas for school improvement, planning, public speaking, supporting younger students, consulting on uniform, and participating in school council.
Students are given a range of opportunities to develop and practice their leadership potential.
The strength of the program lies in its ability to provide genuine roles for the students and to cross many areas.
Our goal is to provide situations where young people are given opportunities to shine!
