Macleod College Council

The School Council has fifteen members: six elected parents, four elected staff, the Principal, the two school Captains and two co-opted community members.  Members are elected for a two year period, with half retiring annually.  Retiring members may nominate for re-election.  Council elections are held annually in March.

The Role of School Council includes:

• setting the broad direction and general educational policy of the school
• involvement in the development of the school strategic plan
• approving the annual school budget and monitoring expenditure
• entering into contracts for buildings and grounds improvements
• working with the school community to promote interest in the school

 

School Council meetings are held twice a term on Wednesday evenings at the school.  The remaining meetings for 2008 are:

I have been a parent at Macleod College since 2003, and have a broad knowledge and experience of the school.  Currently all four of my children attend the school. 

I welcome opportunities to discuss issues related to the School Council with parents/guardians, staff & other members of the school community.  Part of my role is to listen to the views of the school community, so I appreciate hearing from as many people as possible.
